Journey to the Watchtower has three places in its official Roblox Universe listing: the main experience, Hard Mode, and AFK. Their names and numeric Place IDs are confirmed. The public listing does not explain the unlock, portal location, difficulty changes, player limit by place, reward rate, AFK cap, or whether direct entry is enabled. Use this index to enter the correct destination and the live game prompts to understand its present rules.
80124268479430, Hard Mode 95818192450980, and AFK 100035594705514, all under Universe ID 10694025593. Checked September 5, 2026.

No public reward rate or cap is confirmedOpen official placeThese are separate places inside one Roblox Universe, not three unrelated games. Start from Main when you are new because its public description establishes the core loop. Use an in-experience portal or mode button when available; that route is more likely to carry the account and server state expected by the developer.
Use Main to establish your baseline
Main is the only place with a public description detailed enough to define the activity. Use it to learn the normal desert run: preserve Stamina, understand your travel pace, recognize Watchtower pressure, inspect Insanity, read Spirit and Sin effects, and compare ordinary upgrades.
Before judging another mode as faster or better, know your normal result. A simple baseline is the repeatable distance you reach, the movement reserve left at a known point, and the Insanity balance change shown after an ordinary attempt. This lets you compare modes by their current results rather than their names.
Read the Beginner Guide for the first-session route and the Progression hub for an upgrade cycle. Both use the live interface for values that are not published in the public API.
Enter Hard Mode with a clear comparison
The official place name confirms that Hard Mode exists. It does not tell you what becomes harder. Do not assume a specific enemy multiplier, faster Watchtower timing, different Sandworm behavior, exclusive currency, or increased Insanity. Read the current entry panel and note what the game itself promises.
Before entering, understand the return path. Check whether the portal describes a requirement, whether joining moves you to a different server, and whether leaving preserves the result you care about. Bring a build you already understand so a changed Spirit or Sin does not confuse the comparison.
During the first Hard Mode attempt, compare the same early landmark used in Main. Look for differences the game makes visible: warnings, movement pressure, route access, result labels, and any explicit reward modifier. One failed attempt can reveal the interface, but it is not enough to establish a permanent rate or exact difficulty formula.
Return to Main if Hard Mode prevents stable progress. A harder destination is useful only when its current reward or goal justifies the added risk for your account. Ordinary Stamina, Speed, and Insanity Gain upgrades may provide a better next step.
Use AFK without assuming a reward
The AFK place is official, but its name alone does not prove what it awards, how often it awards it, or how long rewards accumulate. Enter through the current game flow and read the on-screen timer, eligibility text, visible balance, and collection rules.
Do not leave a device unattended until you understand Roblox disconnect behavior, the game’s own cap, and any interaction required. Roblox sessions can close, servers can update, and a reward may require collection. A screen that merely remains open is not proof that progression is accumulating.
If the mode displays a reward, compare the starting and ending balance after a short, clearly timed session. Check whether VIP or another visible bonus is active. Then compare the result with an ordinary Main run of similar elapsed time. The useful choice depends on actual return, attention required, and whether active play also creates distance or route knowledge.
Compare the three destinations
Fix a mode that will not open
First confirm the Place ID. A similarly named Roblox game can lead to the wrong experience. Next, join the main place and use its portal or mode selector instead of a direct URL. The developer may require account progress, a tutorial, a server transfer, or another condition that the public listing does not show.
If a teleport fails, rejoin a current public server and wait for the interface to load. Read any error before retrying. A private server, restricted account setting, full destination, or rolling update can also affect entry. Do not repeatedly buy a product unless the live interface explicitly says it is required and the checkout matches the correct creator.
When direct entry redirects to Main, that can be intentional. Use the in-experience route and read the current access message. When the place is unavailable, continue normal progression rather than relying on an unofficial link that asks for account credentials.
Mode choice by progression stage
New players should use Main to understand movement, Insanity, and basic upgrades. Players with consistent Main attempts can inspect Hard Mode when the current game offers it and when they can measure the difference. Players considering AFK should first identify the reward and cap shown by the mode, then compare it with active play.
Rebirth can change your baseline, so compare a mode before and after a reset only when you know what the current cycle retained. The Rebirth guide explains how to rebuild deliberately. A paid VIP or recovery pass can also affect results; disclose it in your own comparison instead of calling the outcome universal.
Quick answers
Is Hard Mode real?
Yes. Hard Mode is an official place under the game’s Universe, with Place ID 95818192450980. Its exact rules and rewards are not published in the public place listing.
Does AFK give free Insanity?
The official AFK place exists, but the public listing does not name a reward. Use the live mode screen and visible balance before treating it as an Insanity source.
Should beginners enter another mode immediately?
Learn Main first. A normal baseline makes Hard Mode and AFK results understandable and prevents a mode name from replacing actual current information.
